Easter, as every holiday, is the perfect excuse to indulge in some tasty treats. Tasty meaning, not so healthy. While it is OK to have a cheat meal every now and then to stay sane, there is some fun in creating healthier options for holiday treats. We’ve compiled a list of a few Easter snacks that are not only healthy, but also full of flavor! Bonus: your family will even enjoy them!
Every day should start with a nutrient-packed breakfast, and Easter is no exception. Mix it up with some fun egg-shaped yogurt pops that can be enjoyed on the go, as you run around hunting for eggs. You can even try out different fillings, such as chia seeds, cacao nibs, or goji berries. Head on over to Eats Amazing to find her recipe!
As we move through the day, chances are snacks should be readily available so it is smart to provide some healthier options. Natasha, over at Natasha’s Kitchen, created a fun variation of deviled eggs. Throw out all that nasty mayonnaise and spice up your Easter lunch because we have a recipe for Guacamole Stuffed Eggs! We’ve talked about what an awesome fat source avocado is, from increasing nutrient absorption to lowering one’s risk for osteoporosis. Definitely a health staple!
Including a vegetable at every meal is essential in getting all of your nutrients for the day. Make sure to always serve a vegetable with your meals and what is more fitting than carrots on Easter? This recipe for Garlic and Herb Roasted Carrots is super easy, super flavorful, and packed full of vitamins and nutrients! Sam has the recipe over at Ahead of Thyme, go check it out!
Remember, even trainers indulge every now and then so enjoy time with your family and get back on track Monday morning! Happy Easter from the KK Team!
